The innovative and sustainable water storage for your plants!
For green roofs, an important feature of our products comes to the fore: their low weight.
The BLUELITE-NET is an ideal solution if you have little time for watering and/or want a permanent irrigation solution.
Conventional underground drip irrigation has disadvantages such as root ingrowth or blockage due to soil fines, damage to the pipe or uneven irrigation in complex soil structures. It is precisely to eliminate these disadvantages that the BLUELITE-NET system offers a well thought-out solution for water-saving underfloor irrigation for your roof lawn.
The cost-effective combination consists of 2 elements: A voluminous nonwoven net (LITE-NET) with a high pore content and a nonwoven-protected irrigation tube (BLUELITE-TUBE) laid directly on top. Substrate is applied root-deep on top of this.
The water from the nonwoven drip irrigation tube is distributed longitudinally in the nonwoven covering evenly delivered to the LITE-NET nonwoven net underneath, where it is distributed capillary over a large area in the root zone. The contact surface between water and soil is multiplied by a factor of a thousand. The robust nonwoven cover protects the drippers against root ingrowth and against blockage by soil fines.
Due to the open and flexible net shape, roots can easily grow through the approx. 13 cm large openings and dock all around the thick nonwoven net This means that 100 % of the capillary water stored in the net is available to the plants when needed. Liquid fertiliser can also be applied very effectively to the roots. Since the system can be laid at any depth, plants can also be optimally supplied in the vegetation phase or in mixed crops. The nonwoven nets are very flexible, easy to cut, over 5 m wide and therefore easy and quick to lay. The 16 mm drip tubes have pressure-compensated drippers at a distance of 33 or 50 cm with a flow rate of approx. 2l/h. The pipes are laid at a distance of approx. 60 cm.
With the LITE-NET as a rootable water storage system, large-scale underground irrigation including aeration can be carried out very easily. Due to the open and flexible net shape, the installation can be carried out at any depth – optimised to the plant selection. The roots dock onto the nonwoven net all around and can thus extract 100 % of the water stored in the net (up to 10 l/m² depending on the variant) when needed.
It can be raised to the surface in places, where it absorbs rainwater and then distributes or stores it underground in the root zone. The LITE-NET not only stores water, but also distributes air and water over a large area and evenly at root level.
LITE-STRIPS , in turn, can be mixed into the soil as a supplement or independently of the other products. Since LITE-STRIPS consist of 90 % open, interconnected air pores, they can absorb about 8 times more water per kg than conventional products such as expanded clay (LECA).
Either they are mixed into the soil above the LITE-NET or the BLUELITE-NET system (but also alone).
They increase the permeability, stability and water storage capacity of the base layer. They serve as a substrate enhancement for the lawn, transporting water quickly from the surface to the roots, distributing and storing it on site. This creates a kind of permanent aeration with reduced soil compaction and surface matting.
To create an optimal installation, please follow the instructions below:
with watering net LITE-NET
Lay the LITE-NET watering net PPover the entire surface on a layer of soil and apply soil over it root-deep.
LITE-NET PP 10,4m2 + LITE-NET PP 28 m2
With water storage LITE-STRIPS
The LITE-STRIPS Bio5 or the LITE-STRIPS PPfunction as an additional water storage at root depth and loosen the soil. Mix approx. 0.5 – 1 l/m² LITE-STRIPS into the substrate per m².
The following products are best suited for this:
Depending on the size of the area and biodegradability (Bio5) or permanent (PP), the following products are suitable:
LITE-STRIPS Bio5 10 l + LITE-STRIPS Bio5 25 l
LITE-STRIPS PP 10 l + LITE-STRIPS PP 25 l
The 10 l box is sufficient for up to 200 l of soil, the 25 l bag for up to 500 l of soil.
